ABOUT ME

The first time that I went to Disney World, I was 7 years old.

15 years later, I finally got to live my dream and work at the Happiest Place on Earth!

My name is Monica, and I have been utterly obsessed with Disney for as long as I can remember! I loved to sing Mary Poppins songs for my family when I was 2, my favorite theatre audition song in elementary school was "Part of Your World," and I became obsessed with drawing Disney characters throughout junior high and high school. I actually heard about the Disney College Program during my sophomore year of high school and had been subscribed to their emails ever since, knowing that I would participate in it someday.

I was born in Denver, Colorado, but I grew up in Overland Park, Kansas. When I graduated from high school, I packed my bags and moved to Nashville, Tennessee to go to college and pursue a career as a singer/songwriter. After 4 years of absolute joy, I graduated from Belmont University with a BM in Commercial Voice and an emphasis in Music Business. In my time there, I learned so much about the music industry, and I released my very first album!

All that time, there remained a longing in my heart to work for Disney, but I didn't want to interrupt my college experience by leaving for a semester. I applied for the DCP in my last semester of college (January of 2017) and was accepted into the program on Valentine's Day!! In August, after an agonizing 6 months of waiting, I moved to Orlando to start my program. During the Fall of 2017, I got to work at Journey into Imagination with Figment and the Pixar Short Films Festival in Epcot at Disney World in Orlando, Florida! This has been a life-changing experience full of friendship, memories, and magic, and I love getting to share all of it with you!

Nowadays, I make music in Nashville with my husband and am also a Disney Vacation Planner through Little Palm Travel! If you'd like to follow my progress as a singer/songwriter, give my artist website a little follow! And if you're planning a trip to Disney and would like some help from someone who knows it inside and out, just shoot me an email at monicalptravel@gmail.com!
